The Rulebook on Internal Organisation and Job Classification of the Agency for Forensic and Expert Examinations was adopted during a legislative procedure in 2021, according to which the Agency is composed of the Department for Support, main and internal organizational units.

The Agency has three basic organizational units - sectors: Sector for biological, DNA and Chemical-Physical Expertise; Sector for Crime-Related and Technical Expertise; Sector for Legal, Financial and IT Affairs.

The Sector for Biological, DNA and Chemical-Physical Expertise has two internal organizational units, namely: Section for Biological and DNA Expertise and Section for Chemical-Physical Expertise.

The Sector for Crime-Related and Technical Expertise has two internal organizations, namely: Section for Crime-Related and Technical Expertise and Section for Expertise of Digital Evidence.

The Sector for Legal, Financial and IT Affairs has three internal organizations, namely: Section for Legal, Personnel and General Affairs, Section for Financial-Material Affairs and Budget Management and Section for IT Affairs.

A total of 52 employees are envisaged for the work within the competence of the Agency, 43 of which have university education and knowledge in various forensic disciplines and 9 have secondary school education.
